Astraia Development: The Missing Link in your business solution

Johannesburg, 09 Oct 2015

In half a decade of supplying end users with the perfect business solution, Astraia Technology has always known that there is always a piece of every solution that is missing.

Like building a thousand piece jigsaw puzzle of the Mona Lisa, only to find that the most mystical woman ever seen has gap teeth in her smile because a small but essential piece is missing, so a business solution can be the same. Astraia Technology understand ERP, CRM and just about any business solution that is being addressed and unlike the jigsaw puzzle builder who cannot find the missing piece Astraia can either find it or make it.

What is this missing piece in a business solution and where can it be found?

First of all the missing piece is called development, or as Astraia calls it just plain "Dev". It is perhaps the smallest part of any solution and yet the very piece that releases all the value and completes the picture. It may be something simple like a report pulling from some third party information from a random Web site or database or it could be a complete custom built user portal. Either way the component for the solution and for the customer is the one important thing that makes an entire system worthwhile or is the unique part that gives them the competitive edge. Without Dev there is not really a solution and gone are the days when an ERP system is installed following some instructions on the side of box.

Development is an important part of the Astraia Technology offering and has been something that has set the company apart from many of its competitors for the last half a decade. Development at Astraia technology started out by adding value to then ACCPAC now Sage 300 solutions and in the last five years has become a value add for the Sage CRM solution as well as the flagship Sage ERP X3 product. And because business demands it, the development team has gone a step further and in the last three years has ventured out creating business solutions that may have started where an ERP or CRM solution was in place but morphed or evolved into a completely independent module or application.

Starting out in early 2010 with a bunch of programmers who ate, drank and slept code for ACCPAC, the development team has grown in size and experience. The team today has a combination of old-school programmers and younger, new generation "geeks", for want of a better word, that have taken a small, but essential extension of ERP and CRM and turned it into a fully-fledged technology division, producing state-of-the-art Web and mobile solutions that some of the most renowned development houses in the world would struggle to develop.

Not only does the Astraia Development team have some of the most capable technical skills it has the ability to understand business. Unlike many technical teams that only manage to speak a language that only a technician, engineer or "geek" can understand, the team at Astraia have real people that can communicate and understand the business and operational aspects of the fix, tool or application that needs to be developed and provided. Bringing technical understanding and savvy business knowledge together is essential for a solution to work, and over the last five years Astraia have proven this time and time again.

Today, as Sage and every other business solution talk about "Disruptive Technology", Astraia take this bull fully by its horns and make already disruptive technology something highly explosive. In 2015 Colin Budworth and his team have a reputation for producing cutting edge and highly innovative solutions that solve some of the most complex and even seemingly ridiculous problems and challenges that businesses face. Over the next couple of weeks Astraia Technology will allow you into the "Bat Cave" as they affectionately call their windowless office in Woodstock, just outside Cape Town, and give you the chance to see, for the first time, some of the solutions they have developed and explain a little about the background, the problem the client had and how it was solved. For the first time you will see just how Astraia breathes life into your vision.
