Apple enthusiasts can expect the Apple Watch and new iPhones to launch in SA this month, but neither will come cheap if users want both of the best available.
The most expensive Apple Watch available is the stainless steel case with link bracelet and the larger 42mm watch face, costing R18 499. The iPhone 6S Plus with 128GB storage will cost R17 499 if bought prepaid.
Apple's first major wearable device was launched in April. By July, it was reported Apple had sold between two million and 2.5 million Apple Watches, which brought in approximately $1 billion revenue to the company.
With Apple Watch, users are able to receive and respond to notifications in an instant, as well as track daily activity and control their music using voice.
Unlike other countries, local customers will be able to come in and purchase an Apple Watch without an appointment. iStore will offer Apple Watch training to customers and let them try on various options before purchase.
The Apple Watch will launch in SA on 23 October, with Apple premium resellers iStore, Digicape and Incredible Connection.
Prices for the Apple Watch range from R5 899 for the cheapest model, to R18 499 for the most expensive. Not all variations of the watch will be available at all outlets.
New iPhones
Apple's latest smartphones, the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, will be available to purchase in South Africa this Friday, 16 October.
The new phones have 3D Touch, 4K Video, and Live Photos, among other new features.
Pre-order is already open on the iStore Web site. Apple is offering existing iPhone owners the chance to trade in their older iPhones for a discount when buying the iPhone 6S or 6S Plus outright. This is only available to iPhone 6, 6 Plus and 5S owners.
Prices start from R11 799 for the iPhone 6S (16GB) and R13 599 for the iPhone 6S Plus (16GB).
