F5 Networks (NASDAQ: FFIV) today announced it has again been positioned by Gartner in the leaders quadrant of its Magic Quadrant for Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs), published 6 October 2015.
"Software continues to be the growth engine for F5 ADCs, with many customers choosing virtual, cloud and as-a-service offerings, as well as traditional hardware and hybrid deployments," said Manny Rivelo, President and CEO, F5.
"We believe that longstanding recognition as a leader in the ADC Magic Quadrant points to the success customers are having with innovative offerings like F5 Silverline services and the strength of our overall Synthesis vision."
In describing the market, Gartner states: "(A)pplication delivery controllers (ADCs) provide functions that optimise delivery of enterprise applications across the network. ADCs provide functionality for both user-to-application and application-to-application traffic, and effectively bridge the gap between the application and underlying protocols and traditional packet-based networks."1
