Truecaller has introduced a new version of its mobile app for Windows 10.

The company says it is the most comprehensive version of the app, which enables users to identify unknown incoming calls and block calls they do not want to receive from spammers and telemarketers.

"We are working to reinvent the communications experience for billions of people and it has always been in our DNA to bring the best version of Truecaller to all the operating systems," says Rishit Jhunjhunwala, VP for product at Truecaller.

"Today, with the hard work of our great team, and our contacts at Microsoft, we are excited to bring our most comprehensive version of Truecaller for Windows Phone, to date."

The Swedish-based company says the app now allows hidden or private numbers to be blocked, and enables users to compile their own, custom block list. There is also protection from the 'Top Spammers' in the user's region.

"In this version, the call identification and block capabilities have been completely rethought."

The updated version has a new design and wizard to help users get started. For the first time, call history will be auto-populated with Truecaller information, including badges and profile pictures.

"With new, improved and streamlined list views on the home and discover screens, more information is ready and waiting at your fingertips, ensuring you are communicating only with the people you choose," the company says in a statement.

A new call screen enables quick actions without having to open the app. Users can now call back, send SMSes, suggest a name, save a number, mark a number as spam, or look it up in Truecaller.

The new app is available for free download in the Windows Store on Windows 10-enabled devices.
