Latest release of M-Files delivers easy, powerful enterprise information management capabilities

Johannesburg, 24 Nov 2015

Deltalink Consulting, a supplier of solutions that dramatically improve how businesses manage documents and other information, announced the immediate availability of M-Files 2015.1.

The latest product release of the M-Files enterprise information management (EIM) solution increases the company's leadership position in leveraging metadata to address demanding information management requirements and challenges with a variety of important metadata-related enhancements.

These include efficient new features for easily configuring the metadata of documents and other objects to include contextual automatic values, intuitive property groupings, helpful tooltips and more. This improves both the efficiency and accuracy of adding and editing metadata, which directly leads to users being able to find the precise content they need faster as well as more effective and consistent business processes.

The new release also offers major enhancements for managing and streamlining highly complex workflows, including the ability to easily administer parallel approvals and configure advanced business process logic without scripting or coding.

M-Files is recognised as the leader in metadata-driven information management and pioneered this unique approach. Industry analyst firm Forrester Research recognised M-Files as a leader in its 2015 Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Wave Business Content Services report in which Forrester stated: "M-Files is unique with its strong metadata-centric approach to ECM." In addition, Nucleus Research for the second consecutive year positioned M-Files as a Leader in its 2015 Value Matrix for ECM. M-Files was also included by Gartner in the 2015 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Content Management.

"M-Files has been a pioneer in leveraging metadata to deliver a more precise, intelligent and ultimately more effective enterprise information management solution since the very first release, and M-Files 2015.1 makes major strides in multiple areas related to how metadata is captured and managed," said Mika Javanainen, senior director of product management at M-Files Corporation.

"We're also focused on listening to our customers, and the enhancements to metadata configurability, and the new advanced workflow capabilities are directly driven by real world customer needs. It's really exciting to see our unique approach gaining traction in the market as businesses realise how much better it can really be versus the old way of organising information in folders. The result is that M-Files simply works better: users find precisely what they need faster and business processes are dramatically improved."

Additional new features and capabilities in M-Files 2015.1 include:

* Improvements in task assignments that enable greater flexibility in configuring approval rules, electronic signatures and processes.
* With the new combo URL feature in M-Files 2015.1, users can now more easily share content across a variety of devices, including PCs, tablets and smartphones.
* Search and scalability: M-Files 2015.1 delivers much faster full-text search with a highly scalable architecture supporting repositories with up to 10x larger search indexes.
* Security improvements: M-Files 2015.1 integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Azure Active Directory and provides enhanced user and user group synchronisation capabilities. In addition to SAML V2.0, OAuth 2.0 and LDAP protocols are now also supported.
