Spigit selected by Sprint to power 'idea network' innovation

San Francisco, Calif, 30 Nov 2015

Spigit, the leading SaaS solution for crowdsourcing innovation, announced today that Sprint uses its innovation management platform to power the Sprint Idea Network and bring innovative, cutting-edge new products and offerings to the telecommunications market. Sprint is an American telecommunications holding company and global Internet carrier, and the fourth-largest wireless network operator in the United States, serving over 57 million customers.

Driving shareholder value through innovation

The Sprint Idea Network is used to manage employee communities' engagements across the company, focusing ideation on addressing business needs that drive shareholder value.

Since the introduction of the Sprint Idea Network approximately two years ago, employees from across the company have contributed over 1 500 ideas poised to solve business needs, which are presented in the form of challenges. A selection of these ideas are chosen to progress to the prototyping stage and lead to new innovations and business processes.

"Innovation is a core value for Sprint, and our employees are important to us," says Joao 'Tex' Teixeira, Manager of Technology, Strategy, and Innovation. "Spigit helps us facilitate our employees' engagements across the US and focus the diverse, collective brainpower of our people. Spigit also helps us drive collaborations that lead to the discovery of some great ideas poised to address business needs."

"Sprint is a leader in using crowdsourced innovation to create tangible business impact," says Scott Raskin, CEO of Spigit and Mindjet, Spigit's parent company. "We're thrilled with the outcomes of their Idea Network program and look forward to seeing how they expand it in the future."
