Intel has developed open-source software to simplify big data analytics in cloud computing.

Trusted Analytics Platform (TAP) aims to make it easier for developers to work with data scientists in deploying custom big data analytics solutions.

Intel is working with Penn Medicine, Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai to deploy this software.

The IT company collaborated with Penn Medicine to use data analytics to predict illnesses early, says Mike Draugelis, chief data scientist at Penn Medicine.

Dr Adam Margolin, director of computational biology at OHSU, says Intel is working with the university to drive scientific progress in understanding the origins of disease.

The TAP is particularly helpful in scaling big data algorithms for graph modelling, says Dr Joel Dudley, director of biomedical informatics at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

The platform offers algorithm and the necessary tools and engines for developers and data scientists to provide end-to-end solutions. It also includes hardware-enhanced performance to manage complex data and security features to enable sending and receiving data from other countries at less risk.

A Big Market Research report, titled "Global Data Analytics Outsourcing Market 2015-2019", predicts that the global outsourcing market for data analytics will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 30.54% from 2015 to 2019.
