Registered, accredited level 5 project management training - a practical approach

Cape Town, 01 Feb 2016

After extensive consultation with its customers, Faculty Training Institute has taken the decision to amalgamate its flagship project management offerings into one comprehensive course, which not only confers an FTI certified qualification, but also grants the SAQA accredited level 5 National Certificate in Project Management to successful delegates.

This programme is ideal for employers to incorporate into their existing learnership programmes or to thereby enhance the skills of their own employees, and even offering opportunities to unemployed learners. Learnerships make a direct contribution towards boosting employment levels and enhance employers' B-BBEE compliance levels.

Whereas previously, FTI's two major programmes, namely the Certificate Programme in Project Management Practice (CPPMP) and the Applied Programme (APMP), taught mostly theory in the former and practical application in the latter; these have now been combined into the new offering named the Practitioners Programme in Project Management. During this practitioners programme, delegates will acquire a comprehensive and solid grounding in project management theory, while also gaining practical workplace experience. Various assignments are completed by delegates and submitted for formal assessment, and a portfolio of evidence is compiled throughout the course.

This qualification is aimed at people working in or with project management teams or those who use a project approach to their business regardless of their discipline or field, eg, technical, engineering or IT projects, business, public sector or community development projects across a gamut of economic sectors.

Faculty Training will still continue to offer its range of focused short courses in the project management and other fields, including the professional certification exam preparation workshops, the three-day introductory project management essentials course and many others. Endorsed by the Project Management Institute and with a solid track record spanning more than a quarter of a century, Faculty Training Institute prides itself on providing exceptional career and skills-oriented training with immediate applicability, value and relevance in the workplace.
