VMware has appointed Matthew Kibby as the regional director of the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
In his new role, Kibby will be directly responsible for driving VMware's vision and strategy, as well as spearheading its continued expansion in the region.
He will be supported by the local VMware sales, channel, marketing, professional services and systems engineering teams.
Kibby will work with customers and partners to drive adoption of VMware's unified hybrid cloud, network virtualisation, business mobility and software-defined data centre offerings.
He will report to Henri van der Vaeren, vice president South Europe, Middle East and Africa at VMware.
Prior to joining VMware, Kibby was the senior director: technology sales at Oracle and before that he was the sales director: financial services.
He has also worked at Prism as the strategic sales director: financial services as well as sales manager at National Data Systems.
In addition, Kibby was a member of the board of governors at Wit Deep Primary School for a period of five years, three of which he was chairman.

Kibby holds a MAP certificate in business management from Wits University.
