The forthcoming CA IT Management Symposium*, taking place on 25 February at Vodacom World, Johannesburg, will explore how organisations everywhere are under increasing pressure to innovate to gain competitive advantage and promote business growth.
According to CA Southern Africa support engineer, Gerard King, the consumerisation of IT is largely responsible for the need to deploy new business models, including technologies, to meet related demands.
"Moving forward, the most effective organisations will progress to a fully integrated and dynamic data centre, where information systems management is highly automated. Moreover, IT staff needs to be empowered to perform tasks and access relevant information quickly to accelerate service delivery and problem resolution. Applications need to be executed across heterogeneous architectures and managed as a whole - not within silos - allowing greater visibility into operations and performance."
King elaborates that in this successful scenario, workloads are assigned to the best-suited server, enabling improved service quality to the business.
"The mainframe is the most reliable and cost-effective platform to provide these capabilities and will retain its place as one of the most critical drivers of the dynamic data centre. At the forthcoming symposium, we will reveal the comprehensive suite of solutions offered by CA Technologies and designed to empower our customers to optimise efficiency, reduce risks and transform cross-enterprise IT environments into a dynamic data centre. We will reveal how the implementation of best in-class solutions that simplify and automate IT infrastructure businesses can begin to see reduction in costs, improved effectiveness and increase IT's ability to drive business value and innovation," concludes King.
