ISACA is an international association of specialists in information and cyber security, information systems audit and assurance, risk management, and the enterprise governance of information and IT. ISACA (www.isaca.org) now has more than 140 000 constituents across 180 countries.
The board of ISACA South Africa is pleased to announce that in the wake of another outstanding year in 2015, the chapter has earned the 2015 K. Wayne Snipes award for the Best Very Large Chapter in Africa.
The K. Wayne Snipes Chapter Recognition Award was established in 1989 to recognise ISACA chapters that meet or exceed service goals by actively supporting local members in the audit, security, risk and governance professions.
K. Wayne Snipes recipients are determined based on the following criteria:
* Chapter membership and growth;
* Member service projects;
* Chapter-sponsored educational events;
* Attendance at chapter meetings;
* Involvement on association committees or with association activities;
* Involvement with other professional organizations; and
* Compliance with ISACA international headquarters.
The ISACA SA Chapter President, Kenneth Chikwanha, speaking after receiving word of the award, had this to say: "We are elated to once again be acknowledged as a model chapter. This is testament to the commitment of the board and volunteers as well as the special relationship that we share with our members and sponsors. We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of service to our members and governance and will proudly fly the flag when we receive the award at the 2016 Global Leadership Summit, scheduled to take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 7-9 April.
