AG Mobile's new smartphone device will be available for purchase in stores next month.

Mobile phone manufacturer AG Mobile joined forces with MTN and local hip-hop artist, Cassper Nyovest, to launch its first 4G/LTE smartphone.

According to the company's Web site, the AG#Hashtag mobile device was designed by the popular star to reflect the walk and talk of the hip-hop lifestyle.

"Our first 4G LTE device is the safest way to speed without getting fined. It gets better, as the AG#Hashtag gives you unrivalled processing power in the palm of your hand wherever you go," says AG Mobile.

The AG#Hastag, which comes in bright red, features a 5.5-inch high-definition IPS display, and a MediaTek 1.5GHz octa-core processor that is paired with 2GB of RAM.

The mobile device has 16GB internal storage and space for a microSD card with a maximum capacity of 128GB.

Other features include a 2 500mAh battery to allow fast charging, a 5MP front camera and 13MP rear camera with special features like aperture, quick capture and four times digital zoom.

AG Mobile says the bright red, which is inspired by Nyovest, makes the device the coolest kid on the block.

With a price tag of R3 500, the smartphone is expected to be available in May.
