ICT solutions provider, Mint Management Technologies, recently received its Microsoft Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) gold certification, making the company the only Microsoft partner in Africa to currently hold this accreditation.

Mint's ALM team specialises in the development of continuous delivery pipelines, incorporating best practices across the entire software life cycle to revolutionise the delivery of software and assure its quality and tangible business value.

"The organisation worked towards and achieved the Microsoft ALM gold certification, thereby ensuring continuous evolvement of its business offering to clients and partners, making Mint the only ALM gold accredited African company to offer implementations of the Microsoft Visual Studio Online and Team Foundation Server 2015," states Mint Cloud, Application and Mobile Executive, Marius Burger.

Demand for competitive ALM solutions rising

The demand is high for ALM solutions that can handle the complexity of today's software development requirements. "Software is becoming an important, if not critical, part of most business strategies, and a good process for the development of software solutions is vital to the success of those solutions," notes Microsoft South Africa ALM and DevOps Solution Specialist Ahmed Salijee.

He explains that the Microsoft ALM certification provides organisations with access to a local partner, enabling them to use Developer Tools Deployment Planning Services days (which are part of the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement) to fast-track their ALM journey. These planning services include engagements on using Team Foundation Server for agile and DevOps best-practices, quality assurance and deployment.

Burger points out these planning services will further ensure that Mint stays ahead of the curve and continues to provide its clients with development solutions that are both competitive and disruptive.

"With offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town, Mint is well positioned to support customers throughout South Africa, and we look forward to taking this partnership to the next level," states Microsoft South Africa director of developer experience Clifford de Wit.

Concurring with De Wit, Microsoft Representative Morgan Webb notes the technology giant is looking forward to continuously building its partnership with Mint. "I have personally seen the focus and commitment by the Mint individuals taking the Microsoft exams, as well as the way the company is building its ALM solutions. With this focus, skills, experience and now certification - the Mint team will deliver massive value to our combined clients and partner bases."
