Canon Europe, world leader in imaging solutions, today announces the launch of four new monochrome large format devices, the Oc'e PlotWave 345, 365, 450 and 550. Designed especially for busy workgroups across architecture, engineering, construction (AEC) and manufacturing industries, the high-performance PlotWave system effortlessly handles large sets of technical documents, saving on both time and cost.

The Oc'e PlotWave 345/365 is ideal for small and medium workgroups that want to get great looking documents with as little effort as possible. The Oc'e PlotWave 450/550 meets the needs of larger workgroups and copy shops looking to handle bigger sets of technical documents more efficiently during routine and peak periods.

Consistent, simple productivity

The latest Oc'e PlotWave series incorporate a robust design with professional quality for black and white printing. Using half the energy of comparable systems, the addition of Oc'e Radiant Fusing Technology takes devices from quiet mode to print delivery in 30 seconds, saving users up to an hour a day and cutting energy costs in half.

For smaller groups, the Oc'e PlotWave 345/365 systems print up to 6 A1 or D-size prints per minute. For higher volumes, the Oc'e PlotWave 450/550 prints 10 A1 or D-size prints per minute.

Users can scan in colour and copy documents whilst printing to maximise efficiency. The devices also support Oc'e Publisher Select 2 enabling multiple sets of technical documents to be created, printed and managed at once. The "What You See is What You Print" preview feature highlights potential errors before printing and makes it easy to change the settings for accurate results. The fully integrated Oc'e online folder option for the Oc'e PlotWave 450/550 also generates professionally folded documents at the touch of a button.

Usability and simplicity are at the core of the new devices. The inclusion of Oc'e PlotWave ClearConnect - an intuitive touchscreen that works like a tablet - provides easy productivity gains. Users will also benefit from full cloud integration and mobile print functionality which enables users to print documents from their tablet, PC or smartphone using Oc'e Mobile WebTools. Support for up to four additional print rolls enables workgroups to deliver continuous high quality, technical documents, with less downtime to change printer rolls.

Professional quality, every time

Next generation Oc'e Radiant Fusing technology provides consistent, high-quality documents that can withstand intensive use both indoors and outdoors. High-resolution Pico Printing at 1200 x 600 dpi makes the new devices ideal for CAD environments where detail is essential. The addition of Oc'e Image Logic technology enables brilliant reproduction of fine lines, as well as compensation for wrinkles and light colours to produce superior results when copying and scanning.

Security and efficiency at the core

To help companies better safeguard intellectual property and business assets, the new Oc'e PlotWave systems offer features such as smart card support and Secure Login to make the printing environment more secure. Confidential information is further protected with a Windows 8 embedded platform, and thanks to the Oc'e POWERsync controller, new devices can be seamlessly integrated with existing hardware and software, including uniFLOW, Canon's print management platform.

Pierre-Olivier Esteban, European TDS/DGS Marketing Director at Canon Europe, commented: "The latest additions to our Oc'e PlotWave system highlight our commitment to technical users across AEC and manufacturing. These industries are having to adapt to meet growing demand for more accurate and secure printing. Our newest devices have been designed to help technical users and Print Service Providers continue to advance their business. They can use them to work faster and more flexibly, reducing costs and safeguarding critical business assets. The new Oc'e PlotWave systems provide a more secure document printing environment, that also keeps costs low, productivity high and printing simple."
