Enterprise-class protection at entry-level pricing from Tarsus Distribution

Johannesburg, 27 May 2016

Tarsus Distribution offers the Dell Storage SCv2000 Series, a feature-rich storage array that delivers high-performance data storage at an affordable price. Enterprise resellers will find this product to be a perfect match for SMB's IT environments and project or departmental needs at larger organisations.

The Dell Storage SCv2000 Series is an entry-level storage array that includes many of the core software features found in Dell's enterprise-class storage centre (SC) units, and at a highly affordable cost per terabyte. These features include integrated data protection, RAID tiering that can optimise capacity, data migration services and multiprotocol connectivity.

Says Othelo Vieira, Dell enterprise solutions specialist at Tarsus Distribution: "The SCv2000 series is an affordable introduction into the scalable SC family, making it perfect for SMBs needing primary storage, or for project-based storage at larger companies.

"The total cost of ownership is minimised over the life of the product, with the ability to expand into the rest of the SC product stack as business needs grow and data requirements increase. It offers a balance of features, affordability, and flexibility for future growth that is rare among storage products in its entry-level class."

As part of the product line, management of all SC products are streamlined into a single, consistent interface. The SCv2000 series offers optional data protection software with Remote Instant Replay, Local Instant Replays and Replay Manager.

Integration with common application environments - including Microsoft and VMware - helps to simplify virtualised data centres. Local and remote data protection features within these applications can take consistent snapshots of virtual machines without sacrificing performance. These more granular data protection options minimise the amount of data that is at risk and can improve recovery point objectives.
