There is a greater need to optimise and drive efficiencies in contact centres while reducing costs, says Jasco's Sadiq Munshi.

Jasco has introduced a hosted virtual contact centre solution targeted at the mid-sized to large enterprise.

The company says the solution is fully managed and requires virtually no technical resources. Also, contact centres will gain access to functionalities like backup, recovery and storage.

"This solution is all about flexibility and added value in the contact centre space. It enables businesses to leverage functionality without having to purchase expensive hardware, says Sadiq Munshi, product development manager: cloud solutions at Jasco Enterprise.

"This allows them to take advantage of the latest technology developments, providing businesses with a competitive advantage."

According to Munshi, the solution also delivers the additional benefits of cost reduction and boosted efficiencies within their organisation. Given the tight economic climate, this solution does not require expensive upgrades, he adds.

Munshi notes as opposed to spending large amounts of upfront capital (capex), the solution allows contact centres in SA to leverage an operational expenditure (opex) model.

Contact centres are all facing cost pressures where large capex investments are difficult to justify, as cash flow is a challenge for many of them, says Munshi. With an opex, pay-per-use model, there is no need to justify large capital outlay, he adds.

A virtual hosted contact centre ensures that the solution is up to date as all upgrades are covered, says Munshi.

"There is a greater need to optimise and drive efficiencies in contact centres while reducing costs. This solution enables an organisation to achieve exactly that."

While this may be the goal and objective, most organisations need to re-think their strategic culture as they consider adopting this solution, explains Munshi.

Because a lot of organisations are still focused on maintaining their solutions on premises, a pure 'rip and replace' approach may not be feasible, he adds. Organisations need to consider a phased approach to adopting a hosted solution, he concludes.
