Fujitsu's storage solutions awarded top rankings in DCIG buyer's guide

Munich, 13 Jun 2016

Fujitsu's ETERNUS1 storage line-up has been awarded top rankings in a comprehensive study of utility storage array systems carried out by leading independent research firm DCIG. The DCIG 2016-17 Utility SAN Storage Array Buyer's Guide weights, scores and ranks the features of 62 different utility storage arrays from 13 storage providers.

High rankings for Fujitsu's ETERNUS line up - including strong recommendations for the powerful ETERNUS DX600 and DX500 models, designed for consolidating data in large-scale databases, business critical applications, business analytics and big data - confirms the sophistication of Fujitsu's products in a highly competitive market sector.

According to Ken Clipperton, DCIG Lead Analyst, Buyer's Guides: "Fujitsu's ETERNUS DX600 S3 and DX500 S3 models achieved Recommended - the top ranking - in DCIG's 2016-17 Utility Storage Array Buyer's Guide. These multi-protocol unified storage systems are recommended for large scale data consolidation efforts due to their combination of highly available, dense, scalable storage capacity and enterprise data services at an affordable cost per GB. We also consider the smaller Fujitsu ETERNUS disk arrays, the DX200 S3 and DX100 S3, to be an excellent choice."

US-based research firm DCIG delivers informed and insightful third party analysis and commentary on IT technology. Its main focus is storage, and its Buyer's Guides provide C-level executives, IT managers, systems and storage engineers and architects with comprehensive, in-depth analysis in addition to recommendations relating to enterprise data storage and data protection technologies.

Rankings for Fujitsu's ETERNUS DX systems:

* The ETERNUS DX600 S3 and DX500 S3 were awarded a "Recommended" ranking.
* The ETERNUS DX200 S3 and DX100 S3 both received a ranking of "Excellent".
* The smallest member of Fujitsu's storage family, the ETERNUS DX60 S3, was designated "Good".

1 The ETERNUS family excels in business-centric storage by relating storage resources to business priorities whilst reducing costs. Fujitsu's ETERNUS storage portfolio balances storage capacity, performance and costs for the complete data lifecycle - from production, business analytics and big data to backup and long-term archiving.

The comprehensive ETERNUS storage family comprises all-flash systems, hybrid disk and flash storage arrays, hyper-scale and software-defined storage, backup appliances and tape libraries. For more information, please see http://www.fujitsu.com/global/products/computing/storage/.
