It will now be easier for advertisers to create canvas adverts within the Facebook app.

Facebook launched four new solutions this week at Cannes, for advertisers to share ads across mobile platforms.

The social network announced at the international advertising festival, held each year in France, the launch of a Creative Hub, the introduction of an Audience Insights API in beta, updates to Canvas ads and enhancements to Slideshow ads.

Facebook says it is focusing on mobile advertising because that is where the majority of users access the platform. It said more than 1.5 billion people use Facebook via mobile, and more than a billion use it every day.

The Creative Hub is an interface that allows advertisers to build adverts collaboratively on mobile as well as keep up to date with the latest developments in mobile marketing.

It contains an area where multiple remote parties can work on adverts, an ads guide on the different formats available on Facebook and Instagram, a preview URL and a repository of case studies.

The hub is now in testing and should be available to everyone in the next few months.

The new Audience Insights API aims to help businesses build better insights to fuel campaigns.

The tool is still in beta, and Facebook is working with a small group of advertisers to understand how to develop insights from aggregated and anonymous demographics, psychographics, topic data and reports from Facebook IQ.

It will be available to all partners early next year.

Updates to canvas ads (adverts that take up the whole screen within the Facebook app) include making it easier for marketers to design, create, share and gain insights.

New enhancements to slideshow ads (a series of still or video adverts that viewers access by swiping horizontally within the app) include the ability to create these ads on mobile, text overlay and integration with Shutterstock.
