The strike by Independent Communications Authority of SA (ICASA) employees has entered its fourth day.

On Monday, ICASA spokesperson Paseka Maleka confirmed 50 employees downed tools and gathered outside the telecoms regulator's offices to embark on a protected strike.

According to various reports, ICASA workers embarked on industrial action because they are unhappy about employee policies that were implemented last year. They want these policies reversed.

The ICASA workers are also demanding payment of their bonuses for the 2014-15 financial year' it has been reported.

It remains unclear when staff members can be expected to go back to work.

However, on Monday, Maleka assured all stakeholders that "operations will still continue" and ICASA intends to "resolve all staff issues on an expedited basis to ensure business is back to normal as soon as possible".
