Vodacom, SA's biggest network, this morning suffered data connectivity issues which left subscribers in Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga offline.

The company did not reveal the cause of the problems but connectivity has since been restored.

In a tweet this morning, Vodacom said: "Subscribers may experience data connectivity issues in Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga this morning. We apologise for the inconvenience. Please be patient as we are working hard to fix the problem."

Although Vodacom lists Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga as the only affected areas, some customers from KwaZulu-Natal and Free State also complained they had experienced connectivity issues since yesterday.

Responding to ITWeb's questions on the issue, Vodacom said: "The intermittent connectivity experienced by some customers in parts of Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga earlier this morning has been resolved. We apologise for the inconvenience that this may have caused."
