Samsung Electronics South Africa recently introduced the Samsung Gear VR and Samsung Gear 360 camera.

The Gear VR is a revolutionary experience in virtual reality gaming and multimedia. It is a plug-and-play device that works seamlessly with selected Samsung Galaxy flagship smartphones. Users are transported, in cinematic quality, to virtual reality worlds and immersed in exciting gaming realms.

The Gear 360-degree camera enables consumers to easily create, view and share experiences through video and still image content. The Gear 360 is designed for travel, social gatherings and every activity in between. The new camera leverages the best of Samsung's Galaxy experience, allowing users to become the creators of their own virtual reality content to be enjoyed through Gear VR.

Both these technologies can be experienced at ITWeb's Enterprise Mobility Summit. "This will be the first time this technology is used in a conference scenario in South Africa," said Paulo Ferreira, a director of enterprise mobility at Samsung Electronics South Africa. Ferreira will be speaking at the event about new trends in technology and will mainly focus on wearables and the role they play in enterprise mobility space.

"The Gear VR was developed in collaboration with Oculus Rift in an effort to deliver an entirely new level of virtual entertainment," says Craige Fleischer, director of integrated mobility at Samsung Electronics South Africa. "The Gear VR is compatible with Samsung's Galaxy Note 5, S6 edge + and S7. These devices are simply slotted into the Gear VR headset and consumers can enjoy virtual reality within minutes."

"Samsung continues to push the boundaries of the mobile experience, extending it beyond basic smartphone functionality," continued Fleischer. "On the heels of last year's Gear VR release, the Gear 360 continues consumers' journey immersive - providing a visual experience that makes capturing and sharing life's moments even easier."

"Samsung is not afraid to revolutionise the dynamics of hardware, software and service provisioning to create devices that are designed to improve how consumers connect, share, organise and get more out of life. If there was ever a time to capture the essence and beauty of what every day experiences have to offer, now would be the time. And what better way to do it with a camera that allows you to capture these lasting memories," concluded Fleischer.

Both these technologies are compatible with select Samsung smartphones.
