Being able to realise new value from existing data and business logic has become a core strategic capability for organisations in every industry, says Dax Data's Jeremy Matthews.

Software distributor Dax Data has been appointed UK-based software company Micro Focus' distributor.

According to Jeremy Matthews, CEO at Dax Data, through this partnership Dax Data is able to bring key Micro Focus solutions to African markets, deliver solutions for collaboration, productivity, compliance, security, file management and endpoint management.

Matthews says Dax Data has a strong emphasis on channel sales as well as technical enablement and is working closely with the local Micro Focus office to grow its network of partners.

By driving the Micro Focus PartnerNet program, Dax Data aims to ensure its partners have all the skills and materials necessary to successfully take Micro Focus products to market, he adds.

Consumer demand for access to information has driven the development of technologies that deliver in-context information, anytime, anywhere, he notes.

Being able to realise new value from existing data and business logic has become a core strategic capability for organisations in every industry, on every continent, Matthews elaborates.

Therefore, Micro Focus aims to provide software solutions that enable its organisations to leverage new technologies in order to keep up with increasingly complex business demands, says Dax Data.

Matthews points out organisations today face three major challenges which Dax Data hopes to mitigate through the partnership: moving applications to the cloud and mobile, integrating systems to deliver new services, but also simplifying access and delivering as well as maintaining business systems that are in a state of constant change.

"Through this partnership, Dax Data is able to help South African businesses take advantage of new trends and technologies. Micro Focus products such as PlateSpin and Filr facilitate the adoption of key trends such as the move to virtualisation and the cloud," says Matthews.

"Dax Data's focused approach and personal touch is a big differentiator and we are confident that they will form an integrated part of the Micro Focus business development team, says Connie Butow, channel manager at Micro Focus.

"We are looking forward to building this relationship and bringing key Micro Focus solutions to market with Dax Data."
