PwC and Google will provide leading disruptive technology required to help clients reinvent their businesses, says PwC's Liesbeth Botha.

PwC SA has entered into a joint business relationship with Google, to bring new and innovative solutions to companies across Africa through PwC's Africa Network.

According to PwC Africa, Google will provide companies with innovative technology platforms; while PwC will bring deep industry experience, a broad range of business services and client insights, from strategy through to execution, to the table.

Together, the two companies say they will help businesses succeed by leveraging PwC's business insights along with Google's Apps for Work and its Cloud Platform. In doing so, PwC and Google will guide and support companies seeking to break new ground, not only to compete with new entrants and adapt to disruptive market forces - but also to lead the innovation themselves.

Liesbeth Botha, strategic digital transformation leader at PwC Africa, says the collaboration is about helping clients to embrace their journey to the cloud, and transform their organisations to thrive and maintain relevance in a rapidly changing digital world.

"Together, PwC and Google bring to market, leading disruptive technology and the deep industry and process knowledge required to help clients reinvent, innovate and transform their businesses. The Google for Work apps are a suite of cloud computing productivity and collaboration tools which include: Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, which aim to increase productivity, improve communication and reduce costs within organisations," she explains.

PwC Africa, adds Botha, has also begun introducing Google for Work applications to its own operations and is transitioning its staff to Google for Work Apps, transforming how they collaborate, driving enhanced productivity and innovation.

According to PwC's 19th Annual Global CEO Survey, 88% of CEOs believe digital technologies are creating high or very high value in operational efficiency and another 77% of CEOs believe that digital technologies are creating value for internal and external collaboration.

PwC Africa recently introduced its first Africa Innovation Zone in Cape Town in July, which aims to break the corporate mould and drive organisations to think about business issues differently.

"PwC Africa will also use this space to collaborate with Google to reimagine a client's digital transformation journey using Google's technology to bring design thinking and fresh insights to problems worth solving," says Michael O'Carroll, PwC South Africa's Cape Town Innovation Zone manager.
