Sony Professional Solutions has appointed film broadcast solutions provider Moviemart to its existing network of South African partners for its broadcast business.

According to Sony, the appointment is part of the brand's mission to grow its presence in SA by bringing professional broadcast solutions and equipments closer to the customer.

The partnership will further enable the electronics company to cater to the requirements of directors of photography filmmakers and production houses across the country by providing tailored solutions that best suit their needs, while strengthening client relations and offering after-sales service, says the company.

Peter Kyriakos, head of marketing at Sony Professional Solutions MEA, says: "We are pleased to be working with a partner who understands the pulse of the South African market. Moviemart is a valuable addition to our portfolio of partners. Their expertise and local market insights will enable us to understand and meet the diverse requirements of customers by providing tailored solutions, including the right cameras and equipment."

South Africa, he adds, is a picturesque country with a creative and talented resource pool when it comes to film and broadcast.

"We are looking at expanding our regional footprint by providing holistic solutions to the creative individuals and companies in the media industry. We will continue to work closely with our local partners to ensure product expertise, availability and after-sales support is not compromised," continues Kyriakos.

Colin Benade, general manager of Moviemart, says his company is focused on ensuring it makes the best offerings available to local customers.

"The South African market has been relatively small but has shown significant growth in the past few years. With the transition to digital media and live streaming, there has been an increase in the demand from both production companies and industry professionals for equipment that can be used to effectively generate diverse content.

This new partnership with Sony Professional will allow us to provide top-of-the-line filming equipment to our customers and enable them to create superior content," noted Benade.

Moviemart, he explains, is part of the Silverline 360 group of companies that provides filming and production equipment to industry professionals across SA. The company specialises in providing an extensive range of products and services including equipment, post-production, and creative support.

"With significant industry experience and an extensive network, Moviemart has steadily maintained high quality of film equipment standards and delivered specialised technical service to its customers. With the partnership, Sony and Moviemart renew the commitment to expanding the possibilities for the customers by bringing unparalleled broadcast offerings to them," he concludes.
