T-Systems is a silver sponsor at the upcoming Gartner Symposium ITXpo 2016. In addition to exhibiting at the ITxpo, T-Systems will host several exclusive networking events and head of IT Portfolio and Solution Sales, Mpumi Nhlapo, will be speaking alongside a line-up of other experts and thought leaders.
The event, which takes place in Cape Town from the 26th to the 28th September 2016, is widely considered the world's most important gathering of CIOs and IT executives. T-Systems will be part of providing delegates with a strategic view on the latest IT trends and buzzwords, covering a host of current topics from bimodal IT and the Internet of things (IOT) to cost optimisation and information management.
Says Nhlapo: "This year's theme, 'Lead 360 - Drive Digital to the Core' will give us an opportunity to discuss digital transformation and whether it should be considered a threat or opportunity for organisations. We will delve into how the digital world is challenging the rules of competition and breaking down traditional barriers to market entry. We will also explore how the growing African digital revolution is impacting South African organisations, the potential threats and opportunities that they face and the solutions available to mitigate the former and realise the latter, such as our new Un-outsourcer offering."
Un-outsourcer is a range of cloud-based service contracts which, with their 'run on satisfaction' and 'quit on incident' policies, promises unprecedented flexibility. According to Nhlapo, the advent of cloud - and the possibilities that come with it - neatly answers the call for IT cost savings across the board, but far too many service contracts remain rigid, high risk and opaque. He adds that Un-outsourcer solutions and contractual models provide businesses with proper cost transparency and, being so flexible, comes at a very low risk to the client.
