Bytes Document Solutions (BDS), the largest Xerox distributor in the world, recently hosted the sixth qualifier Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge at Copperleaf's Els Club, in Johannesburg. The golf course, designed by Ernie Els, saw 100 players compete for the grand prize of playing in the finals in December.

Ninety-four finalists from 16 qualifying rounds across nine countries will compete for the opportunity to be crowned champions of the 2016 Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge. This two-day event will see the finalists compete over 36 holes on the new Jack Nicklaus Championship Course at Al Zorah Golf Club in the UAE Emirate of Ajman.

Johan Basson, CEO of BDS, says: "This very successful challenge is now in its 19th year, with South Africa being the only country beyond the Arabian Gulf to host invitational qualifier rounds. We are thrilled to bring this event to our customers."

First prize went to Craig Ross and Nic Wides from Cape Town-based Flook, with Andre Bam from House of Print and Richard Attwell of Compleo securing second prize. Brett Furlong and Andrew Pittaway took the third position. New in the competition are 'golden tickets', which will bring wild-card entries into the 2016 Grand Final.

"We have many customers who are golf enthusiasts, and an opportunity to play in the Grand Finals is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," notes Basson. "I want to thank our customers for their business and loyalty and congratulate all our winners. I wish them well in the coming event that promises to be an exciting finale."

According to Basson, feedback from the organisers has been positive, rating BDS hosted events as one of the best and most engaged of the qualifiers.

This year's Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge is supported by the Emirate of Ajman, as 2016 host city, and destination partners include the Ajman Palace, Ajman Kempinski, and Ajman Saray. Fairmont Ajman hotels and Ajman's Al Zorah Golf Club are venue sponsors for the 2016 Grand Final. Other sponsors of the tournament include deVere Acuma, Chrysler, and Select Property.
