The new Dell-EMC partner programme will merge two great programmes into one, says Dell-EMC.

The Dell EMC partner programme, which will finally formally unite the channels of Dell and EMC, will be effective on 1 February 2017.

This is after Dell closed the $67 billion transaction to combine two global technology heavyweights - Dell and EMC - in the largest technology merger in history in September. The deal, announced on 12 October last year, took nearly 11 months to complete.

According to the company, the programme will be built on three core tenets - to be simple, predictable and profitable.

It will incorporate the entire Dell-EMC partner ecosystem, inclusive of solution providers, cloud service providers, global alliances, OEM Solutions partners and distribution.

"The new Dell-EMC Partner Programme will bring together two great programmes into one that enables our partners to leverage our industry-leading portfolio and accelerate their business quickly, says John Byrne, president, global channel at Dell EMC.

"The growth Dell-EMC is experiencing in the channel is a brilliant illustration of our mutual success to date, and the new programme is purpose-built to continue to fuel this momentum. Our partners wanted a programme without unknowns, and this programme provides that transparency while ensuring predictability and profitability."

Dell-EMC says in December it will announce tier thresholds for partners, providing a full six months for partners to ramp up to the new criteria.

Programme tiers will include Gold, Platinum and Titanium, as well as a Titanium Black partner tier for the highest performing partners.

Tier levels align with key business models of partners, enabling flexibility where needed to meet customer needs, says Dell-EMC.

The benefits will include rebates for channel partners who drive new business, attach services, sell the full portfolio and offer the portfolio exclusively, it adds.

Analytics solution

Meanwhile, Dell-EMC has also unveiled an analytics solution, which it says provides business insight to drive digital transformation.

The company says the Analytic Insights Module enables the rapid searching, gathering and analysing of data sources within the enterprise or in the cloud.

Businesses are recognising the power of data-driven applications to impact consumer behaviour, says Dell-EMC. However, many organisations are struggling with how to extract business value from their data, it says.

Peter Cutts, senior vice president, Hybrid Cloud Platforms, Converged Platforms and Solutions Division at Dell EMC, says "We developed the Analytic Insights Module to enable customers to shift from developing and maintaining infrastructure to creating intelligent applications that transform their business."
