SPL appointed as Lenovo System-X and ThinkServer authorised parts and upgrades channel for Africa and the Middle East

Service Parts Logistics (SPL) has long been the authorised channel for Lenovo in the PC arena, enabling it to supply genuine original Lenovo parts and upgrades to its customers. Now, SPL has added the Lenovo System-X and ThinkServer parts product portfolios to its offer under an official authorisation as the Strategic Distribution Partner (SDP) for the Africa and Middle East region.

The move comes as Lenovo wishes to use SPL's purchasing and parts management systems in the region, improving lead times and driving support costs down. SPL will be holding significant local stock, making ordering simple and cost-effective, on even shorter lead times.

SPL has a long history in the data centre business and is known for being easy to deal with, having an ability to source almost any requirement and on very short lead times. The addition of the new Lenovo SDP official authorisation and bulk offering will enable them to effectively pass on those benefits whilst also providing pricing advantages to the market as well.

The range of items to be made available by SPL will include their full server, storage and networking portfolio. Practically, this will include all Lenovo / IBM server hard drives, memories, storage media, CPUs, planars, networking equipment, transceivers, host bus adaptors, controllers, batteries, power supplies, storage chassis, and much more!

The newly formed Lenovo DCG (Data Centre Group) with whom this contract has been signed delivers high quality, high-value products, consulting, cloud and support services in a single package with their unbroken supply chain from manufacturing and development, to logistics and global support. This unit will be more agile and focused whilst leveraging the Lenovo group's enormous efficiencies and scale.
