Global technology consultancy Mint Management Technologies' is proud to announce that two of its employees have been inducted into the ranks of the ALM Rangers organisation - demonstrating the organisation's dedication to advancing the science of software development.
The ALM Ranger status tasks Mint with the responsibility of providing professional guidance, practical experience and gap-filling solutions to the global developer community and distinguishes Mint Delivery Discipline Lead, Oliver Smit, and Mint Dotgo Delivery Lead, Ryan Britton, as two of only four ALM Rangers in Africa (with approximately only 80 active ALM Rangers worldwide).
To qualify applicants, the ALM Ranger review board (initiated in March 2006) assesses the history, experience, community contribution and culture-fit of applicants - determining their aptness to deliver on the future expectations that the role warrants.
"ALM Rangers are committed to the improvement of software development at a global scale by supporting and extending toolsets, communities and processes surrounding the application lifecycle," explains Britton.
Smit concurs, noting that technology and the application thereof to improve people's lives coupled with the automation of mundane tasks to increase efficiency and cut down on wasted time, as well as problem solving, is at the heart of each and every ALM Ranger.
He adds that the ALM Ranger status provides Mint with direct access to the Microsoft product teams, early releases, beta programs, global support groups and communities, and the opportunity to 'peak under the hood' at the inner workings and roadmaps associated with Microsoft's efforts in the ALM space.
"Armed with this insight, Mint will extend the products and processes that developers have grown to love, and help the community with VSTS/TFS tooling by improving the developer experience and further fostering the excellent work done by the Microsoft product team," concludes Britton.
