The Special Interest Group (SIG) for SAP Solution Manager was presented with an award from the Africa SAP User Group (AFSUG) at the end-of-year awards ceremony, held recently at SAP's Johannesburg offices.
"The award was presented to the SIG's Steering Committee in recognition for being the most consistent SIG for 2016," says Graham Henderson, Vice-Chairman of the SIG and MD of Blue Pencil Consulting. "Our Chairman, Terrence Ogle, also received an award for his role as Chairman," adds Henderson.
"This award affirms our efforts to make this SIG the most interactive and informative environment for the SAP Solution Manager community to meet, exchange ideas and lessons learnt in order to strengthen the role SAP Solution Manager plays in realising operational efficiencies and the associated financial benefits."
SAP SIGs are an important part of the SAP ecosystem and give SAP customers a chance to be exposed to the latest trends and technologies in their respective focus areas. The SAP Solution Manager SIG hosted 10 well-attended events in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg during 2016. Speakers ranged from customers sharing their experiences of their SAP Solution Manager projects, to international speakers bringing the latest information from SAP events in the USA and Europe.
Henderson went on the emphasise: "SAP Solution Manager has a role to play in every single SAP landscape and we encourage companies with AFSUG membership to have their respective representatives attend the sessions. For companies that have not yet joined AFSUG, it is great opportunity to take up in 2017. These sessions create an invaluable opportunity for attendees to speak to their industry or professional peers as well as the various experts present at the events."
