2017 is clear on the horizon, leading to many tasks being deferred to the New Year to benefit from the promising combination of starting afresh, renewed energy and idealistic resolutions.
Government, however, is still caught up in the unfinished business of 2016.
The heightened procurement activity seen over the past month continues unabated in the latest National Tender Bulletin. It is worth mentioning the recent spurt in quantity has not come at the cost of the quality or selection of offerings. Nevertheless, it is the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) that steals the show.
It has been a disappointing year from SITA, with its participation in the National Tender Bulletin marked by its absence rather than its rare contributions. Government's year-end dash, however, has seen it drop its low profile and pick up its pace to make it the most promising contribution of the year.
