Energy management and automation giant, Schneider Electric has named Caspar Herzberg as president of its newly formed Middle East and Africa region, effective from 1 January 2017.

Currently the president of Schneider Electric Africa and International, Herzberg will, in his new role, oversee all of the company's business operations within the region, the company says.

Schneider Electric is a global specialist in energy management and automation, with customers in over 100 countries.

In a bid to refuel growth, boost organisational efficiency and better leverage opportunities in the existing Africa, Caribbean, Middle East and Central Asia regions, Schneider Electric says it has merged these two markets into a single Middle East and Africa region.

Herzberg joined Schneider Electric in April 2016 to lead the Africa and Caribbean operation. He has a wealth of experience spanning 20 years in the industry.

Before joining Schneider Electric, he was vice president of Cisco Consulting Services for Asia Pacific, China and Japan. He has served in various sales and delivery roles for Cisco and Accenture worldwide.
