Hetzner now offers free Let's Encrypt SSL/TLS domain validation certificates automatically with all hosting packages, providing the trusted green padlock icon and HTTPS in the browser address field.
Let's Encrypt is a new, free, automated and open certificate authority (CA), run for the public's benefit to make encrypted connections the default standard throughout the Internet.
Previously, installing SSL certificates was costly and cumbersome, however Let's Encrypt has enabled Hetzner to automate the installation and renewal of SSL certificates. For this reason, we now offer free SSL - no setup or annual fees apply.
SSL encryption is beneficial for all Web sites; not just those that process credit card information. Having an HTTPS address inspires trust in your Web site as visitors have confidence that data is securely encrypted. In addition, SSL can benefit your search results ranking, as HTTPS Web sites are preferred by Google Search.
All Web sites hosted with Hetzner now have Let's Encrypt SSL installed by default as part of the hosting package.
