South African innovator in the Internet of things, IoT.nxt, will exhibit at the IOT Tech Expo Global and CEO, Nico Steyn, with Deloitte Digital's Gareth Rees, joins a select panel of speakers including executives from Maersk, Amazon, Verizon and BMW.

Steyn and Rees are the only South Africans amongst the more than 100 speakers who will share insights and thought leadership about how IOT can deliver new strategies for business and grow companies' return on investment. Steyn and Rees, Leader of Digital Transformation Africa at Deloitte Digital, will share a speaker slot in the 'connected industry' series of presentations. Deloitte Digital listed IoT.nxt as the ideal partner to assist clients in unlocking the real business value possible by utilising the IOT late last year.

"This is an exceptional opportunity to share our innovative developments and learn from the leading minds at global blue chip companies. Topics include smart cities, connected industry, connected living, data and security, connected services, developing for the IOT and IOT innovations and technologies. The IOT has been widely described as the catalyst for the 4th industrial revolution and we believe there is immeasurable business value to be unlocked. When we speak to clients we hear "we know that there are great benefits in using IIOT, we just don't know where to start or how to articulate the benefits or return on investment". Therein lies the problem. Our company together with Deloitte Digital will aim to demystify this and show how harnessing the power of system and device interoperability aids in conserving an organisation's existing technology investment but also forms the underpin for future-proofing an organisation's digital transformation," Steyn says.

IoT.nxt announced in December last year that the company will open an office in London in the first quarter of 2017 and according to Steyn its participation at this Expo forms part of the launch of that office, its first outside SA.

IoT.nxt participated as one of six Aspiring Innovators identified by Gartner Inc at the Gartner Symposium/ITXpo held in Cape Town in September 2016. The company also presented at the New technology and innovation in the Minerals Industry Colloquium hosted by the SA Institute of Mining and Metallurgy in Johannesburg in June last year.

"We learnt a lot at the Gartner event and our exhibit in London will expand on the innovative technologies we introduced in Cape Town," says Steyn.

This is the second annual event and presentations will cover solution based case studies and a vast exhibition exploring the latest technologies with live demonstrations. It is presented over two days from 23 January 2017 at the Olympia Exhibition Centre in London.
