Boksburg Printers gets con-Versant with digital printing solutions

By maintaining its focus on innovation with the new Xerox Versant 2100, the company has boosted production levels and turnaround times.

Johannesburg, 01 Feb 2017

Having been in business since 1949, Boksburg Printers understands just how important it is to move with the times. However, even this greatly experienced organisation has been surprised at the increased production levels and faster turnaround time delivered by Xerox's new production printer, the Versant 2100 press.

"Our company is extremely passionate about printing and this feeling runs through the entire organisation. Quality and excellence are our watchwords and our strong reputation in the marketplace is built on a convergence of the latest printing technology, highly skilled employees and well established client relationships," says Andrew Tinker, MD of Boksburg Printers.

"We are constantly focused on innovation, which is why we are quick to introduce the best solutions available in marketplace, like the Versant 2100. No job is too big or too small for us and this machine delivers the kind of versatility that suits this maxim. It can handle coated and uncoated papers, bright papers, labels, business cards, glossy brochures, window decals, greeting cards, embossing (creating a raised surface), polyesters and custom solutions. It is even able to handle mixed-stock jobs."

Being the best

"Colour printing is growing rapidly in South Africa, along with increasing demand for personalised and impactful communication. Customer service has always been at the heart of everything we do, so having the Xerox's Versant 2100 as part of our range helps us to deliver on this, as it provides reliable performance and exceptional media handling, coupled with outstanding productivity," continues Tinker.

He explains that the 100 page-per-minute speed of the device is versatile for any production environment, and that it is able to maintain this speed, regardless of sheet size or stock.

It is a printer that combines speed, exclusive image quality and automation features, enabling the company to create colourful, personalised communications, collateral, brochures, photo publishing and specialty products, allowing it to deliver on virtually all customer requirements.

"As a company, we strive to develop partnerships with our customers and explore various synergies within the relationships created. No job is too big or too small for us and we demand high standards from our people at all times, in order to avoid complacency in our factory.

"Our motto has always been 'technology plus service equals cost savings'. With the introduction of the Versant 2100, we now have the latest in printing solutions, which - when combined with our young, dynamic and committed team - means our customers get the most cost-effective high-quality print service available," he states.

Reinvention, innovation

Tinker explains that Boksburg Printers is a company that is constantly reinventing itself in order to keep the business fresh, while always retaining its strong reputation for high quality printing.

"The Versant 2100 is among the latest printing solutions available and means we are able to commit to the future and keep our promise of ensuring our customers always have access to the best printing technologies."

The new machine was recommended to Boksburg Printers by Xerox partner Digilogix. Xerox is represented in 26 sub-Saharan countries by Bytes Document Solutions (BDS), the largest Xerox distributor in the world.

Jason Patch, Production Systems Group Manager at Digilogix, explains that Boksburg Printers has always been at the forefront of printing technology, so the 2100 is merely the next step along this road.

"We expect that it will help grow their digital market and give the company the opportunity to produce more with more, thanks to automated colour management and consistency and increased uptime. It also delivers new applications that were unavailable on the previous press, which should make the business even more competitive in the market and keeps it at the forefront," says Patch.

Tinker adds Boksburg Printers has a large factory that boasts various business units, including a large colour litho section, a jobbing section, a digital section and a folding and finishing section.

"Because of these various revenue streams, the market we service is broad, and encompasses everyone from agencies through to corporates. The installation of the Versant 2100 will increase our competitiveness and be a big boost to our digital growth. Moreover, it provides us with additional capacity and assists our operations to be more cost-effective, which in turn allows us to pass these savings on to our customers, meaning that everybody wins," he concludes.
