Start-ups based in South Africa and Southern Africa have until Friday, 24 February to apply to be part of Google Developers Launchpad Start Johannesburg.

The one-week problem-solving boot camp is aimed at early stage start-ups, and focuses on a range of subjects, including product strategy, user design and user interface, technology, marketing, business development and presentation skills.

The programme will take place in partnership with JoziHub and will be held at its premises in Milpark from 27 to 31 March. A total of 20 start-ups will be selected to participate.

There is no fee for start-ups and transport will be provided for start-ups not based in Johannesburg.

Each day of the workshop will focus on a different subject. There will be presentations, one-on-one mentorship and technical work.

Mentors are selected by Google and the company sees them as an integral part of the programme to help start-ups achieve rapid progress in a short amount of time.

Launchpad Start comes to Johannesburg after the same boot camp took place in Nairobi in November.

Start-ups can apply here.
