Nihilent Technologies, one of South Africa's biggest consulting and solutions integration companies with a global presence, has won the Best Corporate Film award from the prestigious Public Relations Council of India. The short film, dubbed 'Love you Papa' (meaning 'Love you dad'), on social media, has already garnered close to half a million views on Facebook and YouTube.
The film, which has been directed by Prawaal Raman, one of Bollywood's leading and critically acclaimed directors, has been shot on location at London and Mumbai, and features an international star cast, including Madalina Bellariu Ion, a leading artiste from Italy. The other members of the cast include Raj Singh Chaudhary, a leading Bollywood actor, Mohana Banerjee, and Sara Arjun. The chants in the background have been rendered by Sneha Shankar, an Indian talent reality show winner, while the background score has been composed by Hitesh Prasad.
The short film steers clear of corporate vignettes, focusing instead on the emotional angle - the relationship between a father and his daughter. It features the story of a father of a young woman who recognises the talent of his daughter and nurtures her to make her successful in her career. It conveys to corporate stakeholders that Nihilent, as a partner, endeavours to work with its customers, look at their strengths and help them achieve success. However, at a deeper level, it talks about empowerment of women and the special bond shared between parents and children.
The release of the film coincides with the International Women's Day 2017, the theme of which is #BeBoldForChange. 'Love you Papa' celebrates the indomitable spirit of women.
