South African-based Blockchain Academy partners with Satoshi Centre to bring blockchain and bitcoin training to Botswana

Cape Town, 23 Mar 2017

The Blockchain Academy has partnered with the Satoshi Centre to help drive education on bitcoin and blockchain on the 1st and 2nd May 2017 in Botswana.

The training is aimed at developers who will learn how to build blockchain applications using the Bitcoin core. The two-day curriculum has been designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of what bitcoin and its underlying technology, the blockchain is and how developers can use this technology to build their own applications.

The Blockchain Academy was established in 2015 and has been providing training and education in both South Africa, Zimbabwe and India. Its clients have ranged from the biggest financial institutions in South Africa such as Standard Bank, Absa, Barclays to legal firms, insurance companies and entrepreneurs.

Sonya Kuhnel, Managing Director of the Blockchain Academy said: "We are seeing a real demand for blockchain skills in South Africa and we expect to see this in Botswana among other African countries soon, as companies are starting to research and build proof-of-concepts with blockchain technology. This is an extremely interesting space to be involved in and provides many opportunities for incumbents and individuals to experiment with this emerging and disruptive technology."
