ASUS announces global launch of Corporate Stable Model programme

Worldwide roll-out of established programme that provides motherboards and enhanced aftersales support to enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses.

Johannesburg, 20 Apr 2017

Key points:
* ASUS Corporate Stable Model (CSM) motherboards feature the ASUS Control Center suite for comprehensive IT management via a user-friendly interface.

* CSM programme offers proper supply flexibility, with 'last buy order', 'engineering change' and 'end-of-life' notices to help businesses facilitate product transitions.
* ASUS CSM motherboards are available in bulk packaging stacks of 10, or in standard retail packaging.

ASUS today announced the worldwide launch of the Corporate Stable Model (CSM) program, an initiative designed to provide businesses with stable motherboards and enhanced aftersales support.

CSM is currently the most established motherboard programme for commercial projects, and has been in operation in the US and Canada since 2001. ASUS CSM Series motherboards are ideal for enterprises, as well as small- and medium-sized business.

Each CSM motherboard features the ASUS Control Center suite - free server-grade IT management software that provides comprehensive control and monitoring. ASUS CSM products also include a stable roadmap and assured 12-month supply availability to ensure customers need not worry about material supply gaps or extended supply. ASUS is looking to expand the CSM programme to include more products and services in the future[1].

ASUS Control Center

ASUS Control Center is a one-stop IT management suite that provides comprehensive control via a friendly user interface. It is designed to provide the best IT management experience across all ASUS enterprise and commercial products. Each ASUS CSM product entitles the customer to the free Classic edition of the ASUS Control Center. Customers can also upgrade to Enterprise and Ultra editions.

ASUS Control Center helps businesses monitor system temperatures, fan, voltage and hardware status; and allows remote desktop management, including access to power controls, BIOS settings[2] and updates, and security features such as enabling or disabling access to USB storage devices. It also helps with asset management, including software dispatch and device-metadata management.

ASUS Control Center is currently being used by the New Taipei City Hospital and National Taiwan University (NTU) library, where it is used to remotely manage PCs and other facilities.

The New Taipei City Hospital is currently using ASUS Thin Client architecture to replace computers in its consultation rooms and customer information centres to improve efficiency. The ASUS Thin Client system and the ASUS Control Center shortened troubleshooting time and allowed for easy scheduling of updates, helping facilitate the set-up of the hospital's automated management process. In addition, the system's active notifications allowed IT staff to resolve any issues in a timely manner.

The same can be said of the NTU library. "ASUS Control Center's remote monitoring and online maintenance functions are very helpful as our library is quite big. ASUS took the initiative to offer more functions, such as scheduling boot-up and shutdown after studying our library usage patterns. It saves us a lot of time, allowing library staff to focus on more high-value work," said Hui-Hua Chen, Library System Information Group Leader, NTU.

Supply flexibility

As the world's top motherboard brand, ASUS has great supply flexibility to respond rapidly to forecast changes, ensuring its customers need not worry about material supply gaps or extended supply, even when projects require a supply guarantee in excess of 12 months.

ASUS also issues an engineering change notice (ECN) before product revisions, an end-of-life (EOL) notice six months prior to a product's EOL, as well as a last buy order (LBO) three months prior to EOL. This gives customers a proper lead time to ready themselves for product transitions.

Bulk or individual packaging

ASUS CSM motherboards are available in bulk packs of 10. This eases the mass production of systems by reducing clutter and increasing efficiency. All accessories found in a standalone motherboard box are included within this bulk packaging.

CSM motherboards are also available in standard retail packaging, offering customers great flexibility since no minimum order is required. Each package has a full-colour ASUS logo and product branding for easy identification and organisation in the warehouse.

ASUS offers motherboard solutions for all major chipsets, including value segments such as the Intel H110 chipset. They are available in a wide range of form factors, with comprehensive compatibility validations and certifications, and features Intel vPro hardware security technology, PCI Express slots, COM headers, LPT headers and Trusted Platform Model (TPM) chips.

ASUS is the first Intel partner to offer rewards points[3] for Gold and Platinum Intel Technology Providers for ASUS purchases, including selected ASUS CSM motherboard products. Orders of CSM motherboards in Europe, Middle East and South Africa will receive double the usual number of rewards points until the end of May 2017.
