Red Hat, provider of open source solutions to the enterprise market, has announced a new Ansible automation-centric approach to multi-cloud management with Red Hat CloudForms 4.5.

This was unveiled at the annual Red Hat Summit taking place this week in Boston.

Ansible is simple IT automation technology that provides a single language for development teams and migrates applications for better optimisation. CloudForms lets users manage private, public and virtual infrastructure in one place.

Ansible was acquired by Red Hat in 2015.

"Ansible has become a strategic technology with increased adoption and community growth with industry-leading automation capabilities," says Joe Fitzgerald, Red Hat management VP.

"Driving native Ansible support into Red Hat CloudForms was an obvious next step to provide a higher degree of automation in a multi-cloud management solution.

"Red Hat CloudForms already provided comprehensive cloud management capabilities and with native Ansible support, we take it a step further with human-readable automation language, greatly simplifying the building of solutions to deploy, manage, optimise and bolster security for hybrid and multi-cloud deployments."

Red Hat says automation is an essential component of strategic modernisation and digital transformation.

CloudForms 4.5 is expected to be generally available in the Red Hat customer portal later this month.
