The Total Economic Impact Of PhishMe's Human Phishing Defense Solution.

PhishMe's Human Phishing Defense Solution is a suite of products to educate employees, send test phishing e-mails, report phishing attempts, and resolve phishing attempts targeted at employees. PhishMe commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct a Total Economic Impact (TEI) study and examine the potential return on investment (ROI) enterprises may realise by deploying Simulator, Reporter, and Triage, the three components of the solution. The purpose of this study is to provide readers with a framework to evaluate the potential financial impact of PhishMe's complete solution on their organisations.

To better understand the benefits, costs, and risks associated with PhishMe, Forrester interviewed executives at five companies with experience using Simulator, Reporter, and Triage. The executives said that running anti-phishing simulations increased employee awareness of phishing attempts and resulted in more malicious e-mails being sent to their incident response teams using Reporter. PhishMe Triage also dramatically reduced the workload required for the cyber security professionals to investigate, resolve, and prevent future phishing attempts.

Prior to PhishMe, the organisations were uncertain about the level of risk that they faced from employees falling for phishing e-mails, but executives knew that the risk was real and the danger imminent. In some cases, employees realised their mistake and self-reported incidents. In other cases, the IT organisation detected employees accessing Web sites that are known risks. None of the five companies interviewed by Forrester experienced major security breaches via phishing attacks, but all of them faced regular phishing attempts. Each phishing attempt had the potential for an enterprise breach and required urgent attention from the cyber security team.
