Tactile invests and expands

Johannesburg, 14 Aug 2017

Tactile Technologies is a company that continues to invest in growing its business. Only recently, this leading distributor of touch screen technology and POS solutions in Africa opened its very first office in KZN, adding to its existing branches in South Africa. According to Group Director, Mauro Mercuri, the motivation behind opening the KZN branch in Pinetown (Durban), which offers both support and sales facilities, was "to facilitate interaction with the local market and provide support to existing customers".

Along with the opening of a new branch comes the hiring of new staff and so, joining the Tactile Technologies team as Head of Business Development in KZN, is Natalie Strachan. Also joining the team, but at the Johannesburg office, is new POS Channel Manager, Marius Venter.

According to Mercuri, Strachan was specifically chosen from a list of candidates because of her proven track record, positive attitude, and hunger to develop opportunities in the KZN province and beyond. Venter, on the other hand, comes with a wealth of experience in point-of-sale solutions and the touch screen industry, so he was considered a natural fit for POS Channel Manager at Tactile Technologies.

About Natalie Strachan, Tactile Technologies' new Head of Business Development in KZN

Strachan comes on board with a sales management diploma and a considerable 23 years' sales experience working for the likes of Ricoh (imaging and electronics) and Nashua, a leading provider of Digital Office Automation printing products and Document Management Systems (MDS) in Southern Africa. Owing to her honest approach, deep empathy for clients' needs, and willingness to "go the extra mile," she has managed to build very successful, long-term relationships with clients, which has been a great source of ongoing business. Throughout her career, Strachan has achieved numerous top sales awards. When asked about her ambitions and strategy for success in her new position, Strachan says: "to get myself acquainted with the products as soon as possible and get stuck in to achieve the goals that I have set out for myself: to be the best at everything I put my mind to."

About Marius Venter, Tactile Technologies' new POS Channel Manager in Johannesburg

Venter has worked in the hospitality and point of sale (POS) industry for over two decades now. He worked his way from Junior Brand Manager to Product Manager and then to General Manager at one of South Africa's largest POS and EMB Distributors. He was also a part of the project team for FIFA World Cup POS, as well as the stadiums' procurement and inventory software solutions. Venter describes himself as an entrepreneur at heart and has taken on the position with Tactile Technologies as a challenge.

Latest staff appointments could just be the beginning

When asked about the expansion of team, Mercuri said: "These two strong additions to our team enable us to optimise our extended product range. We have more products available now than ever before but we're not stopping here. Tactile Technologies continues to look for new product lines to add to our portfolio and new staff announcements could still be made this year."
