Britehouse implements Oracle HCM Cloud to eliminate Ster-Kinekor's recruitment costs

Britehouse, a division of Dimension Data, and a certified Oracle Cloud Implementation Partner, has joined Ster-Kinekor to implement Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) and as a result, reduce its recruitment costs by 100%.

Ster-Kinekor Theatres is the largest South African theatre chain owner, with 60 movie complexes, 58 state-of-the-art 3D cinemas, and four complexes in neighbouring African countries. It also had a 1 439 staff complement, an ongoing recruitment drive to fill 500 openings across Head Office and theatres, and no centrally managed recruitment system or knowledge of current approved requisitions and applying candidates.

Due to the inefficiencies surrounding its recruitment processes, it sought out a robust talent management solution that would eliminate the unnecessary manual work, excessive paperwork, lack of visibility, misplacement of documentation, and costly reliance on external employment agencies. To this end, it partnered with Britehouse to implement Oracle HCM Cloud, which offers a full recruitment digital solution, including Oracle Talent Acquisition Cloud, Oracle Recruiting, Oracle Onboarding, and Oracle Sourcing.

Says Jane Little, Oracle Applications Manager at Britehouse, "This system is versatile and fully scalable across geographies, capable of handling different approval processes, and constantly optimising hiring processes. It also allowed us to ensure that Ster-Kinekor was in a position to handle potential expansion without system constraints."

Britehouse enabled Oracle HCM Cloud, with its full digital solution complement to go live within just 20 days. Overall, this system allows Ster-Kinekor to eliminate costly manual processes by automating workflow and remove inefficiencies, missing signatures, wasteful paperwork, and more. It also suppresses outsourced agency costs and has reduced cinema staff turnover from 54% to 12.5%.

Furthermore, automated reporting dashboards provide maximum visibility on open vacancies, posts filled, status of approvals, and final contract signatures. Not only does this eliminate previous error-prone manual processes, but with transparent, centralised information, there is continuous visibility and smoother sharing on job offers across cinemas in South Africa. Notably, this has helped Ster-Kinekor maintain its lead position in movie theatres.

"Importantly, the swift implementation of this system raised employee satisfaction by encouraging staff to apply for jobs in different theatre locations and ensuring circulation of top talent through instant visibility of available positions," says Little.

These are the kinds of results and return on investment that you can expect from a cloud solution that both Oracle and Britehouse have put their brands behind.
