Business value IT consultancy AgileIT has entered into a partnership with local managed ICT services company AppCentrix.

The deal will see AgileIT distribute and utilise the AppCentrix SmartICT maturity model, a private or public cloud-based and fully-managed monitoring service that assists to instil monitoring as a discipline in an organisation.

AppCentrix provides a single view of big data from all IT assets on a second-by-second basis. With SmartICT, chief information officers get ICT management while businesses gain real-time analytics across their entire estate - ranging from data to wisdom - that will enable them to mature their organisations and instil monitoring as a discipline.

"SmartICT appeals to chief information officers who wish to ensure alignment between business and IT strategy, realise innovation and improvements, and gain competitive advantage, while continuing to reduce costs and realise efficiencies," says AppCentrix.

The service has over 6 000 sites across 45 data centres and gathers more than 500 000 metrics a day for analysis and management insight, says the company.

AgileIT is an IT services consultancy that delivers agility into technology and was founded by former head of IT operations at Liberty, Nick Truran. He says the SmartICT model worked well for Liberty during his tenure there and it only made good business sense to partner with AppCentrix.

"The SmartICT helped us eliminate spend on disparate tools scattered across the organisation at Liberty, reduced our downtime and improved our meantime to repair," he notes.

"AgileIT focuses on delivering agility and [it made sense] that we partner with a managed service offering that can support our customers' goals."

He adds that fact-based decision-making is becoming a new reality for chief information officers and SmartICT affords them the opportunity to make these decisions by providing them with the necessary telemetry.
