New Dawn Technologies ups the Oracle ante

Black-owned company New Dawn Technologies (NDT) has become SA`s leading Oracle solution provider following the acquisition of two companies from the Iocore stable.

By bringing Iocore Service Operations and Iocore Solutions into its fold, NDT has also become the biggest Oracle solution provider in Africa.

Founded in 1999 by experienced black ICT professionals, NDT continues to be a black-owned, -managed and -controlled company. At its inception, the company made a strategic decision to focus on Oracle solutions and is currently the vendor`s longest standing BEE partner. Furthermore, post-acquisition, NDT has upwards of 150 skilled employees moving it from its previous medium-size status to contention for a leadership role in the ICT industry.

The company has built an enviable track record within the public sector, parastatals and the private sector through its provision of professional services and quality solutions, and NDT CEO and founder Elijah Mahlangu believes these acquisitions position the company to fast-track its strategy.

"New Dawn and Iocore are both prominent Oracle solution providers. Iocore is well known for excellence in the Oracle application market while New Dawn has strong sales and delivery capabilities. Bringing the companies to combine these complementary strengths results in a compelling value proposition for both the public and private sectors," he says.

An external human resources company has been engaged to ensure the integration of the two company cultures goes smoothly and that the business is able to rapidly ramp up to optimal performance.

Oracle SA managing director Kelvin Reynolds notes that since 1997, Oracle has been committed to building BEE companies through its channel capacity building programme.

"With this acquisition NDT is one of the most significant black-empowered implementation partners to emerge from the Oracle community. We are putting our full support behind the company and trust that the market will do the same.

"Responsible corporate citizens look for opportunities to engage with and support credible and value-delivering BEE organisations. The NDT acquisition brings a factor of choice to the table, offering capability as the lead motivator instead of colour," Reynolds adds.

The company will continue to focus on the Oracle solution set, growing its influence in the public, private and large enterprise sectors, applying skills from throughout the organisation to ensure clients are offered solutions that deliver real business value.
