The ITWeb Security Summit is in its thirteenth year. ITWeb Security Summit 2018 promises more than ever before in terms of experts, relevant content, practical case studies, and international and local insight.

Meet the 2018 event advisory board, comprised of specialists from across the cyber security landscape in South Africa: Manuel Corregedor, chief operating officer and Dino Covotsos, founder and CEO, Telspace Systems; Keiran Dennie, senior team leader, Sensepost; Winston Hayden, cyber security and enterprise risk management, Old Mutual; Dr Jabu Mtsweni, research group leader for cyber defence, Council for Industrial and Scientific Research (CSIR); Nithen Naidoo, CIO and co-founder, Snode; Marc Silver, cyber security manager, Investec; Grant Thompson, general manager information security Operations, MTN Group; Keitumetsi Tsotetsi, cyber security risk assurance consultant, PwC; and Maganathin Marcus Veeraragloo, chief advisor, information security, Eskom.

In consultation with the advisory board, ITWeb Security Summit event team are well underway in securing leading experts from across the globe including: April C. Wright, senior security and compliance manager, Verizon Wireline; Eleanor Weaver, country manager Africa, Darktrace; Jayson Street, infosec ranger, Pwnie Express and Rodrigo Branco, senior principal security researcher, Intel.

ITWeb aims to provide up-to-the-minute content, experts from across the globe that will speak to the challenges and pain-points that attendees experience on a day-to-day basis. This will be delivered through insightful case studies, technical demonstrations, content pieces, exposes and thought-leadership. Attendees will be exposed to a plethora of like-minded individuals from across industry verticals and sponsors and speakers alike will create an atmosphere for informative conversation and engaging debate.

This two-day conference will incorporate tracks focusing on key challenges, areas of concern, and trends and analysis, including:

Track One - Governance, risk and compliance.
Track Two - Cyber security and IOT, AI and machine learning.
Track Three - User awareness and social engineering.
Track Four and Five - Technical aspects and demos.
Track Six - Incident response management.

ITWeb will host over 60 speakers and security professionals from the retail, banking, insurance, legal, construction and government space. Attendees range from a broad spectrum, including CISOs, CISROs, CIOs, information security-related, information risk-related, IT risk-related, heads of IT, security architects, risk analysts, IT audit-related, IT manager/ director-related, network analysts/engineers, systems engineers/managers, security analysts and penetration testers.

Given the increasing need for infosec ability, ITWeb Events and Geekulcha have collaborated to host #SS18HACK to develop skills among the youth of the country.

We are also dedicated to the growth of infosec skills capacity in Africa, as a result we will once again offer local and international trainings to broaden your skills based.

And last, but not least, ITWeb Security Summit will take on Cape Town the week following the Joburg event. On Monday 28 May 2018, we will run a workshop with Jayson Street, Pwnie Express and on Tuesday 29 May 2018, we will run a one-day multi-speaker day featuring the best of the best of the 2018 Security Summit agenda.
