Bytes Document Solutions (BDS), the largest Xerox distributor in the world, has announced the appointment of Vivek Venkatkumar as its new financial director.

Venkatkumar succeeds Perry Hurri, who, after 44 years with Xerox and BDS, will be retiring. We wish Hurri a well-deserved retirement and extend our sincere gratitude to him for his dedicated years of unwavering service and high-quality deliverables at all times.

A chartered accountant, Venkatkumar has an established career track record and fulfilled various operational and financial leadership roles with companies Mazars, formerly PKF, and the Ctrack Group (from 2007 to 2017). Ctrack is a division of Inseego Corporation, which is a Nasdaq Stock Exchange listed company in the US. Venkatkumar led the VP Financial Reporting Portfolio and was the group's Financial Manager during his tenure at Ctrack.

Venkatkumar possesses solid technical skills and expertise, is highly people centred and demonstrates commitment towards change, excellence and progress. He is innovative in his approach to work, a strategic thinker and an excellent team player.

Venkatkumar is originally from Pretoria, South Africa, and is married to Charlene. He enjoys current affairs, travelling, music, cars and sport.

"I am very pleased to be joining BDS. I know that Perry's sterling example and track record leaves high standards to live up to. I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that my new portfolio brings," Venkatkumar said.

Johan Basson, CEO of BDS, said: "The exuberance of youth, the high energy, fresh perspectives, knowledge, expertise and experience that Vivek brings to our company will strengthen our governance and financial management capabilities. Vivek's appointment contributes to the consolidation of the leadership at BDS and is evidence of the great career opportunities that employment with BDS can offer."

We extend a warm welcome to Venkatkumar and wish him every success, and a long and rewarding career at BDS.
