Global multinational technology company Dell EMC is strengthening its storage offerings to global channel partners as it introduces two new SC all-flash data storage arrays, key software updates to Dell EMC Unity and a future-proof storage loyalty programme.

According to the company, the SC all-flash data storage arrays are designed to help customers modernise their data centres for better speed, efficiency and cost-savings from existing applications. "The Dell EMC SC5020F and Dell EMC SC7020F are offered as 3U appliances that feature dual active controllers with 8-core Intel Xeon processors and up to 256GB memory and multiprotocol support for 10GB iSCSI and 16/32GB FC network connections. The arrays are also designed to help customers open up possibilities for the business to support new flash-enabled use cases and workloads."

Meanwhile, the software updates to Dell EMC Unity - named as Unity v4.3 OS - is positioned to facilitate non-disruptive system upgrades and enable file synchronisation. The company explains: "The Dell EMC Unity is specifically designed for unified, all-flash storage area network/network attached storage environments. The improvement to the software will now feature enhanced all-flash efficiency with the addition of inline deduplication; synchronous file replication to ensure zero data loss business continuity as well as new capabilities that enable online data-in-place storage controller upgrades."

According to Jeff Boudreau, president of storage platforms at the firm, the new offerings are in line with Dell's strategy to help customers with data centre modernisation. "We're delivering innovative features and performance in the new SC All-Flash and also boosting the efficiency and utility of Dell EMC Unity in the latest Unity OS software update to help our customers with data centre modernisation. We're also redefining what it means to buy from Dell EMC and our partners with the new future-proof storage loyalty programme, offering many benefits such as all-inclusive software, hardware investment protection and a three-year satisfaction guarantee that is the longest and strongest amongst our competitors."

The future-proof storage loyalty programme also includes a 4:1 all-flash storage efficiency guarantee, data migrations, hardware investment protection, all-inclusive software and built-in virtustream Storage Cloud (for Dell EMC Unity only).

Michael Collins, senior vice-president for channel Dell EMEA region, adds that the new offerings will also help improve relations between Dell partners and their customers. "Whether engaging with existing customers or competing for new business, our offerings provide partners with a unique advantage in positioning themselves as trusted advisors, able to better satisfy the needs of the end user and help them to grow in a competitive market."

The company noted that although the Dell EMC Future-Proof Storage Loyalty programme is available now, the SC All-Flash will be available next month while the new Unity OS v4.3 will be made available in January 2018 to Dell EMC Unity customers with a valid support contract.
