Netskope named a leader in the IDC MarketScape for Worldwide Cloud Security Gateways 2017

Study identifies and evaluates companies in the cloud security platform market.

Johannesburg, 14 Nov 2017

Netskope, the leader in cloud security, today announced it has been named a Leader in the "IDC MarketScape for Worldwide Cloud Security Gateways 2017 Vendor Assessment" (Doc #US43093817, October 2017). The report profiled 12 vendors, and Netskope was recognised as a Leader in cloud security gateways (CSGs), also known as cloud access security brokers (CASBs).

The cloud has revolutionised the way people work, making both enterprises and employees more flexible, economic and efficient. According to the IDC MarketScape report, more and more sensitive information is being stored and managed in public software-as-a-service (SAAS), platform-as-a-service (PAAS) and infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS) environments. The more robust and complex the cloud environment, the more likely a CSG will be required for efficient and effective security management. This IDC report details the strengths and challenges of the Cloud Security Gateway solution providers addressing the inherent risks and security requirements cloud adoption presents.

"Netskope has strong market presence and is usually included in any competitive RFP process, states the IDC MarketScape report. "Netskope provides very flexible architecture options for multiple proxy configurations with various deployment options and API monitoring with both on-premises and cloud-based offerings, including physical appliances and a client agent option. Netskope offers an ActiveSync proxy, which may be attractive to some enterprises."

Netskope is the only CASB that provides enterprises with unparalleled visibility and real-time control for all cloud services, whether sanctioned or unsanctioned. Using patented technology, Netskope provides context-aware governance of all cloud usage in real time, whether accessed from the corporate network, remotely, or even from a mobile app or sync client. This ensures that all personal data in transit in the cloud is protected and secure.

"As we make strides throughout the world toward our mission at Netskope of building a standalone iconic security company that customers can partner with for the long term, it is an honor to be recognized by the IDC MarketScape as a Leader in the CSG/CASB market," said Sanjay Beri, founder and CEO, Netskope. "This speaks to the continued work our team does to build the leading cloud security platform in the market, push the envelope on innovation, partner closely with customers to solve their needs, and drive a strong partner ecosystem."
