Newly formed Pinnacle Enterprise Solutions (Pinnes) has signed a distribution deal with Mellanox Technologies, an American supplier of end-to-end Ethernet and InfiniBand interconnect solutions for servers, storage and hyper-converged infrastructure.

Pinnes is a division of distributor Pinnacle that was formed to focus on end-to-end turnkey ICT solutions.

Pinnes chief technical officer Johan L"otter says the Mellanox partnership is part of the company's ongoing strategy to offer clients tailor-made ICT architecture solutions.

"In September, Pinnacle committed to investing heavily in product and service solutions which offer clients ICT architecture that is tailor-made to fit the specific requirements of unique client or project-based deployments.

"The flexible solutions from Mellanox will allow organisations to scale their infrastructure in line with business demands, meaning lower capex and lower opex - leaving budget available for additional compute and storage."

Local small to medium enterprises (SMEs) will now have access to Mellanox's network and multicore processors, adapters, software and silicon that claim to accelerate application runtime and maximise business results for a range of markets.

EMEA distribution director at Mellanox Syd Virdi says the partnership will allow the company to expand its African footprint.

"Primarily, we will work with Pinnes to recruit and enable new partners in order to sell and integrate our portfolio into their solutions. We see the relationship as the ideal next step to further grow incremental sales, especially as more and more customers see the benefits of our technology. Our aim is to help partners differentiate themselves by providing networking infrastructure solutions that give their customers significant technical and commercial benefits."

Last month, Pinnes concluded a distribution deal with cloud data management solutions firm Commvault Southern Africa. The deal resulted in Pinnes distributing data virtualisation, data management and disaster recovery solutions developed for laptops, mobile devices and hybrid infrastructure, to SMEs throughout SA.
